A pianist and composer born in 1926 in Brooklyn, he was introduced to jazz by his father from the cradle onward. Fascinated by Africa because of the multiple journeys he did through the ancestral places of Nigeria and Morocco, he remained in Tangier for several years discovering the musical ascendancy of this country. He owes much of his style to Duke Ellington and the Monk Thelonious, and is a worthy representative of the Afro-American musical heritage. « Hide Description
